b'tasks. The main project areas are as follows: (1) I-Loop Tube, (2) I-Loop X-Core System, and (3) Transfer Shield PlateMark II. 1.The I-Loop Tube serves as the primary component within the ATR vessel (Figure 1). Its pur-pose is to contain the experi-ment in a separate environment at prototypic LWR fluid condi-tions. This includes the abil-ity to perform two-phase flow similar to a BWR. In FY2023, the I-Loop Tube completed the pre-liminary design and moved to the final design phase. A finite element analysis was performed to identify the high stress areas. Those areas were modified to add additional thickness and support through iterative changes. The design now passes an American Society of Me-chanical Engineers Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section III design criteria. The I-Loop Tube is a first-of-kind design with complex features that are challenging to fabricate. To mitigate this risk, extensive prototyping is needed. The team has been in contact with vendors/fabricators toFigure 1. 3D model of I-Loop tube with quick-connect flanges determine optional features and 2023|AFC ACCOMPLISHMENTS 195'
