The development of advanced nuclear fuels benefits from international collaborations  and agreements supporting shared research.  The Advanced Fuels Campaign supports international collaborations via bilateral agreements with France, Japan, the European Union, the Republic of Korea, and China. Additionally, the U.S. supports working group and expert group activities in the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development Nuclear Energy Agency (OECD-NEA) and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The emphases in all collaboration activities are accident tolerant fuel development, metallic fuel development, irradiation testing and data analyses, and development of characterization and postirradiation examination (PIE) techniques.
